Ixaris to launch unique online payment service to be called EntroPay.
Ixaris today announced the launch of its own payment service directed at consumers. The service, to be branded as EntroPay, will be aimed at giving access to online shopping to those who are either do not have credit or debit cards and those who would prefer not to use their own.
Ixaris EntroPay is a simple and more secure online alternative to credit and debit cards. EntroPay can be used to pay wherever VISA is accepted online, just like an ordinary credit or debit card. Users prepay prior to use so no credit is involved; this means that EntroPay is available to everyone whether or not they have their own payment card.
Ixaris intends to extend the EntroPay service to offer micropayment services to the growing community of pay-per-use operators, particularly in the digital content sector. This will allow operators to charge economically for low-ticket items such as music tracks. Ixaris CEO, Alex Mifsud said "EntroPay is designed specifically to reach those consumer segments that to date have been excluded from online shopping, whether through fear of card theft, lack of credit worthiness, or simply concern about privacy. What makes EntroPay different from past solutions aimed at these sectors is the fact that EntroPay is accepted everywhere on the web on day one. And that is just for starters".
